Spokane, Wash – It was another action packed Friday of high school football in the Greater Spokane League.
Ferris and Shadle Park was one of the premiere games of the night. Shadle Park's sophomore quarterback Brett Rypien threw for 454 yards breaking a GSL single-game record, previously held by former-Ferris quarterback Connor Halliday.
The record-breaking performance wasn't enough to conquer the Saxons though, as Ferris won 41-21 for their second win of the year.
Later out at Joe Albi, Mead had an offensive explosion against North Central. It was a career night for Mead's running back Davian Bartlow. The senior ran for 248 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries. The Panthers rolled to victory 47-6.
SWX's game of the night was Gonzaga Prep and University and this game went down to the wire. A late minute interception by Gonzaga Prep's Trevor Cote sealed the game for the Bullpups as they won 14-10 for the second win of the year.
Wins for Ferris and Gonzaga Prep on Friday night sets up a major showdown next Thursday went they square off on SWX at 6:15 PM.
