Spokane Valley House Fire; 1 Person Hospitalized

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - One person was taken to the hospital Monday morning with smoke inhalation after a mattress caught fire in the basement of a Spokane Valley home in the 800 block of N. Sargent. The fire broke out around 10am. The fire was contained to the basement and firefighters were able to quickly put it out. It's not clear how the mattress caught fire.

    UPDATE: Originally the death toll was reported to be 91 people and counting, however, the Medical examiner's office revised the death toll from the Oklahoma tornado to at least 24 people. A spokeswoman said Tuesday morning that she believes some victims were counted twice in the early chaos of the storm.
