SPOKANE, WA - If you doubted Gonzaga Prep's ability to compete with the best in the Greater Spokane League, think again. The Bullpups ran all over Ferris, beating the Saxons 39-13 in a battle of the unbeatens at Joe Albi Stadium.
The story of the night: Gonzaga Prep's running game. The team ran a combined 442 yards on the ground. Quarterback Zach Bonneau had 140 by himself and scored three rushing touchdowns. Running back Griffin Hare finished with 102 yards.
The Saxons came out hot, getting on the board first off a 39 yard run by Gunner Seefeld, but Ferris faltered after that. Christian Olson was picked off four times and the team wouldn't find the endzone again until the fourth quarter.
Gonzaga Prep is now 3-0 on the season and will play Shadle Park next Friday. Up next for Ferris is Rogers.
