SPOKANE, Wash. - Routine farm work sparked a field fire south of Spokane Sunday afternoon near Valleyford.
Firefighters were called to the intersection of Elder and Dunn Rd. for a brush fire that was quickly growing. The fire made its way through wheat stubble and came fairly close to a nearby home. Crews were able to get a line around the flames and contain extinguish the flames.
In all, about 20 acres burned, though no injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.
Officials say it is likely that farm machinery is to blame.
