NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say two-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Shaun White has been charged with public intoxication and vandalism after an incident at a Nashville hotel.
Police say officers responded to the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel early Sunday after a drunken man identified as White pulled a fire alarm, forcing the hotel to evacuate all guests. An employee also reported seeing White destroy a hotel phone.
Police say White was about to leave the hotel in a cab when a hotel guest told the driver and that police had been called. White allegedly kicked at the guest and ran away. The man chased him, and White fell and hit his head.
A spokeswoman for Baptist Hospital said White was treated there and released before being arrested and booked by police, who released him on his own recognizance.
