Red Cross Providing Assistance Following Apartment Complex Fire On Lower South Hill

SPOKANE, Wash. - Several volunteers from the Inland Northwest Red Cross responded to this afternoon's apartment complex fire on the south hill. All twelve units if the complex sustained damage and the Red Cross is working with those residents to ensure that their immediate needs are being met. The owner of the complex is housing displaced residents in the Mirabeau Park Hotel. 

The Red Cross will be meeting with all of the residents tomorrow to provide immediate assistance in replacing lost food, clothing and medical items as needed. The Red Cross will also work with each tenant on developing a recovery plan. 

Any resident of the Tekoa Apartment building who did not speak to a Red Cross worker this afternoon is asked to call the office at 326-3330 tomorrow to schedule an appointment with a disaster services caseworker. 

All Red Cross assistance is provided at no cost to the victims of disasters. The community can support disaster victims such as these by making a financial donation online at www.redcross.org, in person at 315 W. Nora, or over the phone at 509-326-3330.
