Fever Defensive Coordinator Named Cavalry Head Coach

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, Wash. - (From Tri-Cities Fever) Fever division rival, Wyoming Cavalry, announced the hiring of Ryan Lingenfelder as their Head Coach for the 2013 IFL season. This came on the heals of the resignation of long time Cavalry Coach Dan Maciejczak.

Lingenfelder joined the Fever in 2009 and was in charge of the FBs, LBs, and the Offensive and Defensive line. In 2010 he was promoted to Defensive Coordinator. Coach "L" and his defense played key roles in the back to back Conference Titles and their two appearances in the United Bowl.

Coach L wrote the following statement to share with fans and business partners of the Fever:

Dear Fever Nation,

The time you have shared with me these past four years have been a joy. I will always feel the Tri Cities gave me a home and afforded the opportunity to do what I love to do. There will always be a spot in my heart for the Fever Family. Many people deserve a big thank you from me, but there are just too many to name. The few I need to give a special thanks to is Teri and JR for they set a standard to what kind of people you want to work for and I feel lucky they are in my life. Coach Shack is a good man and has been a great leader and for showing me how to be successful in this business. Coach Pratt has been a great friend and has always been there for Coach L. All the fans that have cheered for their favorite team and support for the players. I look forward to my next step in life and next step in my career. It will be great to compete against this great organization and face you great fans. All I ask is don't be too hard on me and I promise to provide an example of what I have experienced during my time here. Best of luck to all of the Fever Nation, see you soon…

Ryan Lingenfelder "Coach L"

Fever owner, Teri Carr, stated "It is never easy to lose a member of our team. On a personal level, JR and I are sad to see "L" leave, but professionally we are proud of how far he has come in his profession. Coach L is the perfect example of what we like to do here. We like to develop our coaches and players so that they have the opportunity to reach the next level in their career. I look forward to seeing the team he puts together for Wyoming."

Fever Fans will have the opportunity to see Head Coach Lingenfelder in action during the 2013 season as the Wyoming Cavalry will be one of the teams listed on their home game schedule.
