Posted: Updated:

GRANITE FALLS, Wash. (AP) - A 53-year-old Arlington man was arrested Tuesday for investigation of a hit-and-run that left an injured 58-year-old Arlington woman on the Mountain Loop Highway near Granite Falls.

The Snohomish County sheriff's office says the man told detectives he and the woman were arguing and she jumped out of his vehicle while it was still moving. He said he drove over her accidentally.

She was found on the highway Monday night and flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition.

A cell phone found at the scene led detectives to the man.
