A record 24 million latinos are eligible to vote in the 2012 presidential election, according to an analysis by the census bureau. This is up by more than 4 million, since 2008, when 19.5 million latinos were eligible to vote.
Latinos are the nation's largest minority group but the turnout rate of eligible Latino voters historically lags that of whites and blacks by substantial margins.
There aren't any nationwide data on Latino voter registration levels so far in 2012.
The Franklin County Auditor's Office also wants to remind voters of the deadlines for the November 6 general election. The last day to mail a new or updated registration is Saturday, October 6th and the last day for online voter registration is Monday, October 8th.
