BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A 19-year-old Three Forks man is charged with felony assault in a minor after he told law enforcement officers he hit his 4-week-old son and grabbed his arm aggressively because the baby would not stop crying.
Bryce Alan Duval was arrested Monday and released from the Gallatin County jail Tuesday on $10,000 bail. He was ordered not to have any contact with his son.
Court records say Duval brought his son to the hospital Monday with a bruised abdomen and broken arm. He told both hospital staff and law enforcement officers that he struck the child with an open hand and grabbed the baby's arm "aggressively."
Deputy County Attorney Shannon Foley said the Montana Department of Health and Human Services is already working with the family.
