Chiefs' Gal Out Indefinitely

Updated:

The Spokane Chiefs have returned from a difficult trip to the west side of the state Tuesday.

The Chiefs lost to the Seattle Thunderbirds 6-4 in a game that looked like it could have gone to either team until Seattle took a 5-3 lead in the middle of the third period. The game moved the Thunderbirds within one win of sharing third place with the Chiefs. The Chiefs record stands at 6-3 while the Thunderbirds are 5-3.

Unfortunately that was not the worst part of the Chiefs' trip to Seattle. 20-year-old forward Blake Gal suffered a leg injury in the game and will be unable to play for quite some time.

SWX spoke to Gal and he said his knee ligament is hanging on by a thread. There is currently no timetable for his return. Check back here for more information as it becomes available.

The Chiefs will play their first game without Gal on Friday against the visiting Thunderbirds. The puck drops at 7:05pm.
