CWU questions aggressiveness after loss to Azusa Pacific

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Central Washington football is questioning its aggressiveness after losing late to Azusa Pacific, 24-17 on Saturday. Central gave up a 53 yard touchdown catch in the final minute of the game. This was right after the Wildcats tied it, then got the ball back with a chance to win it, but went three and out and punted it back to Azusa Pacific, which executed the big play.

"We did the same thing down in Humboldt two years ago, went three and out, punted to them. They drove the length of the field and kicked a field goal to beat us. Again, I've learned a lesson. I just need to be a little more aggressive. When it doesn't work, you think, why didn't you be a little more aggressive on second and third down," head coach Blaine Bennett said.

CWU will get another shot at Humboldt State this Saturday.
