WATCH: Inspiring Kicker Hits Game Winning Field Goal!

Posted: Updated:

KHQ.COM - A high school kicker in Brick Township, New Jersey hit a game winning field goal that left everyone in the stands jumping for joy, even the opponent's fans.

With 30 seconds left in tied a game between the Brick High School Dragons and the Toms River North Mariners, Dragons' kicker Anthony Starego, number 41 in the video, lined up for a 22 yard field goal and split the uprights. The Dragons won the game, but after that field goal, even the Mariners' fans were standing and cheering.

Anthony has autism, and even though he is a little different from the other players on his team, he fits right in. According to Mark Salerno, a teammate of Anthony's, whenever Anthony gets hit, he wants to return the favor. "But because he's a kicker, he doesn't really get the chance to do that," says Salerno, "we take it personally and we try to make sure (the other teams) know we're watching out for him."
