Spokane County Sheriff's Office: One Arrested, Four Children In Protective Custody

Posted: Updated:
PRESS RELEASE FROM SPOKANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: On Friday morning, October 26, 2012, at 6:00 a.m., the Spokane County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team served a search warrant at a residence near the 1800 block of East Marshall. The warrant issued as a result of an investigation by the Sheriff's Office Investigative Support Unit (ISU) and the Spokane Violent Gang Enforcement Team (SVGET).

Several adults and four children, two three-year-olds, one four-year-old and one eight-year-old, were in the residence at the time of the warrant. Investigators found controlled substances in plain view inside the residence and saw that the children were sleeping on the floor. Due to the unsafe environment for the children, all four were placed into protective custody.

A twenty-year-old male was taken into custody for multiple controlled substance violations. The investigation is on-going and additional arrests are expected.
