Veradale Man Faces Vehicular Assault Charges Following Crash
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol says Vehicular Assault charges will be filed against a Veradale man following a car crash Saturday evening.
Troopers say 25-year-old Derek Phillips was traveling westbound on Trent at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended a vehicle that had just turned onto Trent from McDonald. Both cars ended up in the eastbound side of the road following the collision near Woodlawn.
Phillips and the two occupants of the other car were taken to the hospital for treatment, however the extent of their injuries is unknown.
Troopers say alcohol was a factor in the crash and Phillips will face Vehicular Assault charges.
