SPOKANE, Wash. - On Tuesday night Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers won re-election to a fifth term in Congress.
Here's her statement:
"I am humbled and excited that a strong majority
of Eastern Washington voters showed their continued confidence in me and our
positive, constructive ideas for America's future by re-electing me to a fifth
term in Congress. I look forward to returning to Congress where I will
keep fighting for local priorities like the North South Freeway, Fairchild Air
Force Base, rural health care, and hydropower. As a member of the
House Republican Leadership team, I will keep working with my colleagues in a
bipartisan way to pass legislation to create jobs, make government more
accountable, and keep the American Dream alive for the next generation. I thank
the people of Washington's Fifth District for continuing to place their trust in
me."
Rep. McMorris Rodgers was first elected to Congress in
2004. She is the Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference.
