Mt. Spokane, Mead, CV Advance to State Quarters

Mt. Spokane, Mead and Central Valley all advanced into the State Quarterfinals in girls soccer Tuesday.

Mt. Spokane defeated Enumclaw, 2-1 at Spokane Falls Community College. The Wildcats scored two goals, within three minutes, in the first half, to extended their unbeaten streak to 18. Mt. Spokane will play Kamiakin, in a rematch of the regional championship. The Braves beat Mercer Island to advance to the quarters.

Mead also advanced to the Elite Eight, by defeating Kentridge, 3-1 at University High School. The Panthers fell behind early, giving up a goal just three minutes into the game. Mead was able to tie the score at one, with a goal in the 30th minute. The Panthers then went on to score two goals in the second half to advance to the state quarterfinals. Mead will play the winner of Camas and Moses Lake.

Central Valley defeated Auburn High School 5-2, Tuesday night. The GSL top seeded Bears scored three first half goals to earn their 14th win of the season and advance in the state playoffs. The Bears will play the winner of Issaquah and Gig Harbor.
