Confident Inslee Forming Transition Team Day After Election But Not Claiming Victory

KHQ.COM - Democrat Jay Inslee just finished meeting with the press for the first time since numbers started coming in last night. Inslee did not declare victory, but he said he will start forming his transition team for the Governor's office immediately.

The former congressmen believes that by the end of the week the voters will have an answer as to who will be their next Governor. Tuesday's election was the first Presidential/Gubernatorial all mail-in election in Washington state history.

"We're confident because we know where the votes are and we know what ballots were cast," Inslee said. "I've been inspired by Washingtonians all across this state.Inslee didn't speak last night until about 11 o' clock.

He walked on stage with his wife Trudi and their three sons to a booming ovation. "They are still counting the ballots in the Governor's race, but I believe tonight our state has taken another step forward."

    SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A new 100-bed psychiatric hospital is coming to Spokane.    The Inland Northwest Behavioral Health hospital, which opens to patients in October, will have about 200 employees.    The Spokesman-Review says the $33 million facility will be split into four units, each with 25 beds for inpatient services. One unit will be reserved for adolescent patients between the ages of 13 and 17.
