SPOKANE, Wash. -
Gonzaga Prep is on a mission to bring home a 4A state football championship, and it begins Saturday on their home field against Union.
The Bullpups are coming off an impressive 55-28 pounding of Chiawana last week. Zach Bonneau racked up 309 rushing by himself – the second straight week he had eclipsed the 300-yards mark.
Coach Dave McKenna believes his team is peaking at the right time.
"We're playing well and I'm excited for our boys and our team," he said. "I'm proud of them but at the same time they're not satisfied, and nor should they be. They accomplished one of our goals: one, to be the No. 1 seed, and two to get to the 16 and then we got other goals to fulfill. We'll work hard, continue to get better and come Saturday at 1 o'clock they'll be ready to go."
