CHENEY, Wash. -
After blocking a field goal to squeak past UC Davis 31-28 on Saturday, Eastern Washington stayed put in Monday's FCS top 25 poll at No. 5.
In fact, nothing changed in the top five. North Dakota is still No. 1, followed by Big Sky partner Montana State. Sam Houston is No. 3 and Old Dominion is No. 4. Last week's No. 6 team, Stony Brook, fell all the way to No. 12 after losing 28-14 to Liberty.
Eastern Washington plays its final game Saturday on the road at Portland State. A win would give them a share of the Big Sky title. A loss would not only hurt them in the conference, but would also keep them out of the FCS playoffs.
