Be Aware: Salvation Army Scam

**Press Release From Spokane County Sheriff's Office**

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - Some individuals are going around Eastern Washington and North Idaho claiming to be collecting scrap metal for The Salvation Army.  This is a scam.

The Salvation Army does not go door to door asking for donations.  Please do not give anything to anyone who comes to your home or business claiming to be from The Salvation Army.  Try to get their name, phone number or license plate information and call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.  So far the description has been a woman in a white van.

Any questions call Sheila Geraghty at 509-329-2726.
