Good Neighbor With A Shotgun Defends Couple From Burglar

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane police responded to a call for help after a highly intoxicated man started kicking in the door of a home in the 4000 block of East Carlisle Wednesday night.

He made his way inside where he then assaulted the homeowner and wife. That burglar was eventually forced out of the home when he started fighting with homeowner again. That is when a nearby neighbor heard the commotion, saw his neighbor being attacked, and came out of his house with a shotgun.

That neighbor was able to hold the burglar until police showed up where they were able to take him into custody. He now faces two charges of 1st Degree Burglary.

Police tell us that the burglar is very lucky in this case, and that if the helpful neighbor had shot him, it would more than likely have been justified.

Police also say that it does not appear that the burglar knew the victims, and that he was most likely looking for drug money.
