CHENEY, Wash. -

Eastern Washington is busy preparing for Portland State with a conference title on the line.

A win in this weekend's regular season finale would give the Eagles a share of the Big Sky title. They know that playing meaningful games this late in the season is a reward for all the work they have put in.

"We put ourselves in a very nice position and it's nice seeing our hard work we've got here, but we also know we have more left in the tank and we're not finished yet," said linebacker Grant Williams.

"We've been able to accomplish a lot throughout the regular season but we want to do a little bit more," added quarterback Kyle Padron.

Coach Beau Baldwin, who knows what a championship team looks like after winning a national championship in 2010, says his Eagles are still on an upward climb.

"I am confident that some of our best football – potentially – is still yet to be played," he said. "That is exciting when you're sitting where we are to think that way."

Eastern Washington, ranked No. 5 in the FCS polls will certainly be assured of a playoff spot if they beat Portland State on Saturday. They find out on Sunday who they will play and where they will be, whether it be on The Inferno in Cheney or on the road for the first round.
