2 Rescued From Rising Waters Of Washington Creek

Posted: Updated:

ARLINGTON, Wash. (AP) - A fire official in Snohomish County, Wash., says two people have been rescued after getting stuck in the rising water of rain-swollen Pilchuck Creek.

Battalion Chief Greg Osborne of the North County Regional Fire Authority tells the Daily Herald (http://is.gd/bUa60l ) that a teenage boy found himself in trouble when his all-terrain vehicle got surrounded by water late Monday afternoon north of Arlington.

A relative tried to rescue the boy with a tractor but the tractor got stuck too. That's when someone called for help.

Rescuers in a hovercraft brought the two to safety.

Osborne says they did the smart thing in staying with their vehicles.
