SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

Cinderella stories are a sports fan's dream, and Spokane boasts one of the most notable tales so far this season.

Forget about Gonzaga basketball for a while. The new underdog in town is University. The Titans host Eastside Catholic this weekend in the 3A football semifinals at Joe Albi Stadium.

"We knew that we would have a chance to get into the playoffs," said coach Rob Bartlett. "Whether we realized we could make a run like this – probably not. But looking at the progress we've made the last three weeks alone has just been huge. I've talked to GSL coaches that have made runs the last two or three years, whether it be Gonzaga Prep or Ferris, and they say that the greatest progress you make is really that last three to four weeks. It's just huge for the program."

University's semifinal game on Saturday will be broadcast live on SWX-TV in the Spokane/North Idaho region. Fans can also watch it live online on WIAANetwork.com.
