Coeur d' Alene Lights Up For The Holidays

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Christmas kicked off with a bang Friday night during the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.

About 30,000 people crowded the streets of Coeur d'Alene for a parade and tree lighting with a fireworks show. This has been a tradition for the city for 26 years now.

Friday night also kicks off the "Journey to the North Pole" holiday light show cruises on the lake.

According to the Coeur d'Alene Resorts website,  the 40-minute cruise offers spectacular views of the holiday light displays. The most memorable point in the journey lies across the lake, as Santa awaits your arrival at the North Pole Toy Workshop!

Nightly cruise departure times: 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 pm with additional departure times on select dates based on demand. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults - $18.75, Seniors (55 yrs. & over) - $17.75 and children (12 yrs. & under) are complimentary. Cruises are available until January 1st.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - The collision on SR 291 near mile post 9 is now fatal according to Sacred Heart Hospital.A 17 year old female was driving in a four car sedan that was in the northbound lane going southbound when it struck the motorcycle head on.62 year old Robert White was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. He was wearing a helmet.>>
