Joshua Smith Decides to Leave UCLA

Updated:

UCLA's Josh Smith, who turned down Washington to play for the Bruins, is leaving Westwood.

Smith, from Kent, Wash., said through a statement released by the school that he was leaving the program for personal reasons.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at UCLA and am grateful for the opportunity that has been presented to me here," he said in the statement pushed out to the media on Wednesday.

Smith, a junior, played in all six of the Bruins games this season and was averaging 5.2 points per game. He averaged 9.9 points per game last season.
