Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police were called to a stabbing Monday evening just before 6:00pm in the 1800 block of W. 7th.

Police say a man and woman showed up to an apartment in the area and made contact with another man and woman living at the residence. At some point, a fight broke out between the two males, resulting in one of the men being stabbed multiple times in the back.

Upon arrival police found the one victim in an alley with multiple stab wounds to his back. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and we are told by police that he has "serious life-threatening injuries."

During the investigation police contacted two suspects, a male and female, at a local hospital. The male was seeking treatment for cuts on his hand he may have received during the fight with the victim. Those two have not been arrested yet as detectives try to determine what exactly happened.

Police say the victim and two suspects know each other. The area of 7th and Oak remains blocked off while police continue to investigate.

The investigation continues.
