CHENEY, Wash. -

Two streaks will be on the line this Saturday in the FCS quarterfinals in Cheney. One streak belongs to Eastern Washington, while the other belongs to their opponent, Illinois State.

The Eagles have gone a perfect 6-0 on the red turf at Roos Field this season. The Redbirds have yet to be beaten in six games on the road this year. Something has to give this weekend.

Eastern Washington will try to protect its home field and punch its ticket to the semifinals.

"We expect a great challenge because it is the playoffs," said defensive tackle Evan Cook. "There are some raw statistics up there. You kinda throw it all out the window because on the field it's win or go home. So, you put us in that situation, and who knows?"

"Something has to give, right?" said coach Beau Baldwin. "That's what they keep writing about, and one of those streaks is going to go down. Hopefully we're on the correct end of that, but it's going to be tough."

Saturday's game against Illinois State is at 3 p.m. It can only be seen online on ESPN3.
