KELLOGG, Idaho - Studies show that one in four children is bullied on a regular basis at school and 43% of students have been bullied online. Bullying doesn't just hurt a child emotionally but can take a negative effect in their education.
Kellogg High School students tackled the issue of bullying on Thursday by creating an anti-bullying program. Through role playing and classroom sessions, high school students learned about different types of bullying, how it can affect people, and even how they could be punished for it.
The program was a month in the making after the school's principal requested a presentation from student leaders. Students questioned if bullying could be eliminated and gave input on what could make their school a better place.
The students who helped organize the seminar say they've had some interest from other schools in the Silver Valley to host the same thing.
