SPOKANE, Wash. -

Fresh off a tough loss to Ohio State, the Gonzaga women have to refocus for a regional rivalry contest against Idaho on Thursday night.

The Zags dominated Moscow last year, beating the Vandals 91-42. In fact, Idaho hasn't won a game in the series since 2005.

But Gonzaga says history is not a factor when the rubber soles hit the hardwood.

"It is always important to win in your backyard brawls," said coach Kelly Graves. "Like I said, Idaho is really good. I've admired Coach Newlee for a long time, he has some good talent, they really spread the floor well. We have to play well come game in and game out to beat people. It's just our new reality."

The Vandals (3-7) are coming off a disappointing loss of their own, having lost 48-62 to the Washington Huskies in Seattle on Sunday. Thursday's game will be their sixth consecutive game on the road before they return to Moscow on Dec. 29 for a four-game home stand.
