City Of Spokane Holiday Closures

FROM THE CITY OF SPOKANE: The City of Spokane will have a number of closures related to the holidays. Spokane City Hall will be closed on at noon on Mondays, Dec. 24 and 31, and all day Tuesdays, Dec. 25 and Jan.1, in observance of the Christmas and New Year's holidays. 

The Spokane City Council is not scheduled to meet on Mondays, Dec. 24 and 31.  Council meetings will resume on Monday, Jan. 7, with a 3:30 p.m. briefing session and 6 p.m. legislative session. Both meetings will be held in the City Council Chambers in the lower level of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

Parking meters don't have to be plugged on Tuesdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. And, remember, parking is free after 5 p.m. at metered spaces through Jan. 5. The Spokane Municipal Court will be closed on Tuesdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

All Spokane Public Library branches will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 25, for the Christmas holiday.  Since the East Side, Hillyard and Indian Trail library branches are normally closed on Mondays, they will also be closed Wednesday, Dec. 26. All Spokane Public Library branches will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 1, for New Year's. 

City of Spokane Garbage pickup and curbside recycling will not be picked up on Tuesdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, and will be a day late following the holidays, with Friday collections occurring on Saturday.  Downtown night routes aren't affected by the holidays. The Waste-to-Energy facility and the transfer stations will be closed on Tuesdays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, but open all other days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  (Waste Management solid waste collection will be on the same schedule as the City.  Other haulers may have different schedules; check with your provider.)

Meanwhile, the Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel, Imax Theater, and Spokane Falls Skyride will be closed on Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25, but open all other days including Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. All other attractions including the Ice Palace and Enchanted Forest Mini-Golf are open on Christmas Eve (no evening sessions), Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.     SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police responded to an armed robbery on Spokane's south hill. It happened just before midnight when police say a man walked into the 7-11 at 30th & Regal, displayed what appeared to be a revolver and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.
