It wasn't that he won the award, rather it was how Max Browne found out he was the national Gatorade Player Football Player of the Year that caused the stir at Skyline High.

On Wednesday, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson surprised senior quarterback with a giant trophy.

Browne led the Spartans to a 14-0 record and another 4A state title this year. The 6-foot-5 USC-bound quarterback threw for nearly 13,000 yards during his prep career and holds the state record for career completions (882).
