3 Displaced In Early Morning Christmas Eve Fire

SPOKANE, Wash. - A fire in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve sent crews scrambling in West Spokane, fortunately there were no injuries.

Spokane Fire officials say the fire broke out just after 3AM at the intersection of W Rosamond and S. "E" St.

Fire crews arriving found flames and smoke coming out of the top and back of the home, and found 3 residents evacuated safely; a father, mother, and their 19-year-old daughter. The family told fire officials that their smoke alarm woke them up.

Investigators say the fire broke out in the corner bedroom but have not indicated what might have caused the fire.

Despite a consistent snowfall overnight into the early hours of Christmas Eve, fire crews say the weather did not hinder their ability to fight the fire, as their trucks were chained up overnight into Monday morning.
