N. Spokane SWAT Standoff Ends With No Arrests

Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane County SWAT team cleared the scene of a standoff after three hours without making any arrests.

The standoff started just after 3:30pm Sunday afternoon at a home near Perry and Buckeye. Police say a woman called 911 to report that someone was being held against their will at that home. Officers responded and started blocking off traffic. Eventually the SWAT team was called in and for three hours officers had the home completely surrounded.

Just before 6:00pm Sunday evening, officers made contact with someone inside the home, who said she was not being held against her will. The ultimately determined there was not enough evidence to show a crime had taken place.

It's not clear why that initial call was placed, but we're told an investigation is currently underway.
