Nachbaur, Team Canada Lose to USA in Semifinals

The Canadian junior hockey team, led by Spokane Chiefs coach Don Nachbaur, lost in the semifinals of the World Junior Hockey Championships Thursday.

The Canadians lost 5-1 to the team from the United States. The Americans move on to face Sweden in the gold medal match on Saturday. Sweden is the defending champion.

Team Canada had been undefeated in the world tournament up until Thursday's loss, and they had already beating Team USA 2-1 earlier.

The Americans outshot the Canadians 42-34 in the semifinal match.
