In eight games so far this season former Gonzaga center Robert Sacre has averaged just 2.4 minutes of playing time for the Los Angeles Lakers. But it is obvious he is fast becoming an entertaining – if not valuable – part of the team.

After spending a little time in the D-League, the Los Angeles Lakers are turning to former Gonzaga center Robert Sacre for help.

Mike Trudell, from Lakers.com, reported the new development via Twitter Monday afternoon.

Gone for Tuesday's game are Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. Howard has a torn labrum in his right shoulder and is out indefinitely. Gasol has a concussion. And backup center Jordan Hill is unavailable because of a hip injury he sustained against Denver.

So, now the pressure is on Sacre.

Sacre has been sent to the D-League three times this season. In four games for the D-Fenders he has averaged 11.3 points and 8.5 rebounds. He scored 22 on Saturday against Sioux Falls. He will need those kind of numbers, and perhaps more, to keep Los Angeles in the game Tuesday night against Houston.
