SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth University is ranked fifth in today's D3hoops.com top-25 poll, up one spot from last week.

The Pirates (12-1), who have won twelve games in a row since a season-opening loss to now #2 St. Thomas (Minn.), have been on a steady climb up the rankings all season. The Bucs have risen from 20th to 13th to 11th to sixth and now to fifth over the last five ratings.

Whitworth has appeared in the last 42 D3hoops.com polls, going back to early in the 2009-10 season. This is the third season over the last four years that the Pirates have been ranked among the top five teams in Division III.

Whitworth (4-0) will meet Whitman (9-4, 3-1) in a first place - second place showdown on Tuesday night in the Whitworth Fieldhouse.
