YAKIMA, Wash. -- A cross-town match-up is coming to SWX. Friday the Davis Pirates take on the Eisenhower Cadets. The two Yakima schools square off, starting at 5:45 p.m. with the girls. Then the boys game follows at 7:30 p.m. The Pirate boys and girls both sit in the middle of the CBBN, while each Cadet squad still searches for its first conference win. Both schools say they are getting better.
"Their improvement has come in the fact that they understand pattern a little more. They understand strategy and philosophy of pressing and playing defense and screening out," Davis boys' head coach Eli Juarez said.
"Recently we've really started to get as a team and started to play what I would call consistent basketball. We're playing really hard. We finally have a core group of guys together that bought into our system and philosophy," Eisenhower boys' basketball coach Colton Monti added.
