8 Dummy Patients At Naval Hospital Bremerton

Posted: Updated:

BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) - Naval Hospital Bremerton now has eight medical mannequins that serve as patients simulating illness, injury and even childbirth for doctors, nurses and corpsmen in training.

The three newest computer operated dummies speak, bleed and mimic other human functions.

The Kitsap Sun reports (http://bit.ly/W479fh ) the three are an adult called 3G, a child named Sim Junior and a baby known as NewB.

The hospital's simulation center gives health care providers a chance to learn skills such as inserting trachea tubes, giving shots or drawing blood before they work on humans.
