SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

If last week was Rivalry Week in the Greater Spokane League, this week is Rivalry Week Times Two. The Stinky Sneaker contest is Tuesday at Spokane Arena: the battle between Spokane Valley rivals University and Central Valley.

SWX will broadcast both the girls and boys games on TV and online. The girls game starts at 5 p.m, followed by the boys game.

Central Valley is going with a "Shoe-S-A" theme". The students recognized fans would yell "U-S-A" at football games earlier this year, so they ran with it for the basketball season as well and made t-shirts featuring the Statue of Liberty.

The theme this year for University is Shoempa Loompa, an obvious reference to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because – as one cheerleader put it – "we like candy."

Good luck to both teams!
