Fire At Airway Heights Grocery Store

Posted: Updated:

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. - A fire at a popular grocery store in Airway Heights drew firefighters from several local agencies to come help fight it Saturday afternoon.

It happened just after 3:00pm Saturday at the Yoke's grocery store on Highway 2.

The store was evacuated, after reports of flames coming from a wall in the meat department.  Firefighters were able to quickly put the fire out, and it didn't spread beyond the one wall.

Nobody was hurt and the cause appears to be electrical.
