Americans Reflect on BIG win against Spokane

KENNEWICK, Wash. -The Tri-City Americans came up with a big win on Saturday. The Ams came from behind to beat the Spokane Chiefs 4-3 at the Spokane Arena. The Ams scored just 21 seconds into overtime with a wrister by Matle Stromwall.  The win puts the Americans within one point of the Chiefs for fourth place in the WHL Western Conference standings. That fourth place could be huge, meaning home-ice in the first round of the playoffs. The Americans talk about just how big of a win Saturday was for the team.

"I know that's something special for the guys in the dressing room here. it's always a big challenge going up into their rink they have the big crowds up there and its pretty loud. But winning up there is always something special especially with the rivalry we have going," said Americans captain Justin Feser.

"It was a big win. I mean we try to keep an even keel as the season rolls along, that was a massive win for our team," echoed Jim Hiller Americans Head Coach. "Because we were short-handed, in a tough building, had to come from behind and those are great moments for a team."
