CLARKSTON, Wash. (AP) - School officials in Clarkston, Wash., say police have arrested a juvenile student who had an unloaded handgun and an illegal switchblade knife at an alternative school in that south-eastern Washington city.
No threats were made to anyone at the Educational Opportunity Center and the student did not have any ammunition when police picked him up Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, Clarkston School District officials said the district and Clarkston police had worked together to intervene with the same student "on a non-school-related matter" that happened Monday evening. That information led officers to locate the student at school on Tuesday.
The gun was described as a .22-caliber automatic.
The student was booked into juvenile detention on multiple accusations.
