Former Ferris Saxon and current Montana Grizzly Trevor Poole was given an 18-month deferred sentence after pleading guilty to a drug possession charge.

Poole, 20, was sentenced Tuesday in District Court in Montana. He apologized to family, friends, teammates and his school.

Poole was arrested in October after buying to "molly" pills, a drug similar to Ecstasy, at a Halloween party. He was suspended from the team indefinitely and then pleaded guilty to the charge in November.

The deferred sentence means the charge could be removed from his record if he meets the terms of his sentence.
