Silver Mountain, Going Once...Going Twice...Possibly Sold?

Posted: Updated:

KELLOGG, Idaho - Silver Mountain Resort in north Idaho is for sale. It was reported Wednesday that Jeld-Wen, the company that owns many of the areas local ski and snowboard resorts has begun to sell off all of their assets, which includes all of Silver Mountain.

Jeld-Wen has started this process by doing sealed bid auctions on the mountain as a whole, or all assets individually, and it looks as though they have quite a few interested buyers.

KHQ Local News reporter Dylan Wohlenhaus spoke with Murphy Yule, a broker out of Boston who is attempting to help sell off the mountain that had this to say, "Several companies were interested in buying the mountain, however, before the sealed auction closed on the 15th, the current owner and the companies could not come to a price agreement. Another sealed bid auction will be held in February where those interested companies will come back to the table."

Due to legal reasons, Murphy Yule was not able to disclose the names of said companies.

There is no certainty as to whether new ownership would affect any of the current jobs at the mountain. Both Jeld-Wen and Murphy Yule hope that the mountain will be under new ownership by the end of the current ski season, but no one knows if it will happen indefinitely.
