
KENNEWICK, WASH. - AAA in Washington state is celebrating a record high success for AAA's Soap for Hope donation drive.
This year's drive collected a total of 126,646 toiletry items to give to charities in Washington state and northern Idaho. That's up more than 20% from the year before, when the drive collected 105,079 items.
In the Tri-Cities, the AAA office collected more than 3,900 toiletry items which employees donated to the Domestic Violence Treatment Services of Franklin County.
The Yakima AAA office collected more than 3,000 toiletry items, which employees donated to Rod's House.
AAA asks the its employees and the local communities to drop off new, full size and sample size toiletry items, including soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste and deodorant, year round at any AAA office in Washington. Over the last five years, AAA has collected and distributed more than 375,000 toiletry items to local charities. organizations.
