SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -
For the past 17 years the wrestling programs at University and Central Valley High Schools have competed against each other in the Battle of the Bone. This year, the famed wrestling match will take place on live TV.
UHigh and Central Valley hit the mats Thursday night on SWX – the first live wrestling event produced by SWX.

"If they've lived here in the Valley they've dreamed about that moment that the Battle of the Bone hits, and they're on the mat and the big match," said UHigh coach Don Owen. "It's pretty crazy, and it's pretty heady for those guys."
"It's a great atmosphere, and it's not something that's developed in one year; it's come over time," said Central Valley coach John Owen. "It's something that everybody in the Inland Northwest talks about – the Battle of the Bone.
The match starts at 7 p.m. (PT). It can be seen live on SWX-TV, swxrightnow.com and on the Syncbak app in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
