CONNELL, Wash. -

CONNELL, Wash. - It's been a little over a week since a Connell murder suspect was last seen. 40-year-old Julio Cesar Hernandez is wanted in connection with the shooting death of his ex-wife's boyfriend last Thursday.

There are very few leads right now but the Connell Police Department is working diligently to find Hernandez.

Chief Mike Kessler said the murder suspect actually goes by another name, as well: Juan Carlos Cortez-Lopez.

His car was found in Othello over the weekend along with the gun used in the murder, which was stashed in some bushes near his brother's house. His cell phone was also taken as evidence.

Hernandez was last seen in the Othello area the night of the murder.

A nationwide arrest warrant was issued Wednesday and U.S. Marshals are working with Connell Police to find him.

"Not necessarily to assist with the investigation, per se, but if Mr. Hernandez is out of the country or in another state, they have the resources to track him down, whereas we don't," Kessler said.

He said Hernandez does have family in Central Washington and friends in California but at this point authorities aren't sure where he is hiding.

The Tri-City Crimestoppers have posted a bulletin offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to his arrest.
