Posted: Updated:

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - The Washington State Patrol responded to a head-on collision on Highway 27 late Friday night.

Troopers say 51-year-old Lisa McKerlie of Spokane Valley was traveling her 2003 Hummer southbound on Highway 27 near Gibbs Road when she crossed the center line and hit an oncoming 1998 Ford Expedition in the northbound lane. The Expedition rolled and came to rest in the southbound lane. The driver of the Expedition, 59-year-old Steven Sharon and his passenger, 57-year-old Beverly Sharon were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, however the extent of those injuries is unknown at this time.

McKerlie was not injured during the crash.

Troopers say alcohol played a factor, and DUI charges are pending.
